Licensing, the plain-English version

This is the workflow most supervisors and producers expect. You tell us what you need, we confirm rights and deliverables, then you get the files and paperwork fast.

Send the brief

Project type, usage, term, territory, and timeline. Budget range helps us move faster.

Clearance check

We confirm who controls the master and publishing, then we tell you what is available.

License terms

We align on fee, term, territory, exclusivity, and any most-favored-nations (MFN) needs.

Delivery and docs

We deliver WAV files, stems and cutdowns as needed, plus invoice and license paperwork.

What you get

Broadcast-ready 24-bit WAV, instrumentals, clean versions (when applicable), and alt mixes on request.

Common deliverables

Stems (separated instrument tracks), 60 and 30 cutdowns, 15 stings, and underscore beds.

Cue sheet support

We provide writer and publisher info to make cue sheets and reporting painless.

Rights basics

Most sync placements require permission for two sides, the sound recording (master) and the composition (publishing). If a track is one-stop, we can clear both sides through one contact, otherwise we coordinate the remaining side.

Terms typically include usage type, term length, territory, media, exclusivity, and fee.

Fast approvals

Use the Copy share link button to send the exact track to your team, editor, or client. The link opens the page with that track preselected.

If you need an alternate mix for picture, tell us what to match (tempo, intensity, edit points).

Licensing FAQ

What rights are included in a typical license?

Most deals cover sync (use with picture) plus the master recording use. If you only need one side (master-only or publishing-only), we can quote that too.

What’s the difference between sync and master?

Sync rights are permission to use the composition (the song itself). Master rights are permission to use the specific recording you hear. Many projects need both.

Do you offer blanket licenses for a channel or series?

Yes, for ongoing creators, podcast networks, or episodic series we can structure a blanket or slate deal so you are not renegotiating every single upload.

Can I edit the track, shorten it, or loop it?

Usually yes. Standard permissions include edits for timing: cutdowns, loops, fades, and scene-based stems. If you need a custom edit, we can deliver it.

Do you provide stems and alternate mixes?

Often yes. Common deliverables are instrumental, no-drums, no-melody, sting, and 15/30/60 second cutdowns. Tell us what you need for your editor.

What audio format do you deliver?

WAV (24-bit) is standard for post-production. MP3 can be provided for previews. We will match sample rate needs (48kHz is common for video).

Is this royalty-free?

We license it for your specific use, term, territory, and media. Some deals are one-time fees with no backend royalties, others involve PRO performance royalties depending on where it airs.

Will my project trigger PRO royalties?

Broadcast TV, some streaming, and public exhibition can generate performance royalties via PROs. Web/social often does not, but it depends on platform and region.

Do you require cue sheets?

For broadcast/film, yes, cue sheets are standard and help performance royalties be tracked correctly. We can provide the metadata you need.

Can you do exclusivity?

Sometimes. Exclusivity usually increases the fee because it limits other licensing opportunities. Tell us the category (brand, competitor set) and term.

Can you license worldwide?

Yes. We can quote US-only, regional, or worldwide depending on your distribution plan.

What if my campaign scope changes later?

No problem. We can amend the license if you expand territory, extend term, add media, or move from organic to paid placements.

Do you license for games and apps?

Yes. Tell us platform (PC, console, mobile), distribution, and whether the track will be interactive/adaptive so we can structure the rights properly.

Do you license for podcasts?

Yes. We can license for intros, outros, beds, and promos. Tell us if the podcast is ad-supported and if it will be distributed globally.

Do you license for live events and festivals?

Sometimes. Live event usage may involve venue PRO reporting. We can quote depending on the event type and recordings/streams.

Can I use the song in monetized YouTube videos?

Yes, provided the license covers your channel usage and (if relevant) paid promotion. We will structure it so you have clear permission.

Will I get Content ID claims?

If a track is in Content ID, licensed uses can be whitelisted. Tell us your channel URL(s) and we will provide the proper route to prevent claims where possible.

How do you price licensing?

Pricing is based on media (film/TV/web/ads), term, territory, audience size, exclusivity, and prominence (background vs feature).

Do you offer non-profit or indie discounts?

Sometimes, depending on scope. If the project is mission-driven or low budget, share your budget range and we will try to fit the right track.

Can you write custom music in this style?

Yes. If you need something bespoke, send reference links and your brief (mood, tempo, instrumentation, edit points) and we can quote a custom commission.

Do you clear both sides in-house?

For our catalog, yes, we handle master and publishing clearance so you are not chasing multiple parties.

Do you handle contracts and paperwork?

Yes. We use plain-English agreements and can work with your legal team if you have required language.

Can I use the track in multiple videos?

Depends on the license. Some are single-project, others are channel/series blanket deals. Tell us your plan and we will set it up correctly.

Do you offer track versions without vocals?

If available, yes. We can also provide alternate mixes where vocals are lowered or removed depending on the stems.

What metadata do you provide?

Title, artist, tempo (BPM), mood tags, genre, and ISRC/UPC where applicable. If you need a full music report, we can generate it.

Do you allow AI training on the music?

No. Licensing covers use in your project, not training machine learning models on the audio.

What is your typical turnaround time?

If the track is already in the catalog, we can often confirm availability quickly. Paperwork can move the same day for straightforward deals.

What’s the fastest way to get a quote?

Email us your project type, platforms, term, territory, and a couple of reference tracks. Include any deadlines and your budget range if you have one.
